An investigation has been launched into the assets of three former prime ministers, two former ministers and their families. Based on a letter from the Money Laundering Investigation Department, Nepal Police has launched an investigation into the movable and immovable properties and sources of income of former prime ministers Sher Bahadur Deuba, KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, two former ministers Arju Rana Deuba and Deepak Khadka and their families, police sources have informed.
Similarly, an investigation has also been launched against former minister Arju Rana's brother Bhushan Rana.

The department has sent a letter to the police to bring the then former prime ministers who were found guilty in the initial investigation under the ambit of the investigation. Based on the same letter, the CIB has taken Khadka into custody by issuing an urgent arrest warrant, and preparations are underway to get the remand extended by the District Court today.
