The special court has sought argument notes for the verdict after the argument. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a case in the special court on Jestha 22, making 93 people, including Nepal, as defendants in the Patanjali land case. The CIAA has demanded a fine and punishment of Rs 185.85 million against Nepal. The then Nepal-led Council of Ministers had approved Patanjali to transact more land than the limit in its meeting on Falgun 6, 2066. The indictment claims that Nepal had ordered Patanjali to sell and exchange land more than the limit in a direct order on Magh 18, 2066.
The Authority had filed a case against 93 people on charges of illegally selling and misappropriating 314 ropani 15 anas 2 paisa 1 daam land and demanding a compensation of Rs 185.85 million. The Authority's investigation found that the then Council of Ministers had given legitimacy to the purchase and sale made by Patanjali in collusion with the Land Revenue, Survey, Land Reforms Department, and ministries. Patanjali was registered in Nepal on Asoj 20, 2064 as a non-profit company. Then, on 9 December 2006, Patanjali applied to the Ministry of Land Reforms to purchase 700 ropanis of land at a concessional rate to open an industry in Kavre.
