Former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, who was arrested on the recommendation of the Gauri Bahadur Karki Commission for the suppression of the Gen-G movement, has said that he has been subjected to political vendetta.

Speaking to Kantipur after his arrest, Lekhak said that the government has arrested him in a biased manner.

He said that he will fight politically and legally against this. He said, ‘This is political vendetta by the government. It is completely biased. I will fight politically and legally against this.’

The government had decided to implement the Karki Commission’s recommendations in the first cabinet meeting on Friday. On that basis, the police arrested Lekhak and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli from their residences in the morning.
