The government is set to abolish party trade unions in public administration.
According to the agenda approved by the first meeting of the Council of Ministers on Friday, the employee trade union will be abolished.
'To completely free the public administration from political interference and make it impartial, neutral and accountable to the citizens. For this purpose, it will be mandatory for civil servants, teachers, professors and all public servants to perform their duties free from direct or indirect affiliation with any party, group or interest group, and strict departmental action will be taken in accordance with the prevailing law in case of violation,' reads point 12 of the agenda. 'In addition, to abolish party trade unions in public administration and end unwanted interference and informal pressure, and to make the decision-making process and service delivery effective. For this, the necessary legal provisions, especially the Federal Civil Service Bill, will be formulated within 45 days.'
