Police have arrested seven protesters who were protesting the arrest of UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
District Police Range Kathmandu spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, informed that they were arrested after they tried to enter the restricted area in Singha Durbar.
According to him, some protesters had burned tires in Babar Mahal. During the same, there was a scuffle with the police. Some protesters were injured when the police baton charged them.
Bhattarai said that when the protesters started getting agitated, a cell fired tear gas to bring the situation under control.
This morning, the cadres had come out to protest as per the decision taken by the UML after the arrest of Chairman Oli. UML cadres had demonstrated in front of Maitighar, Babar Mahal and Singha Durbar South Gate in Kathmandu.
