Newly appointed Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal has said that there will be no change in the country's foreign policy even if the government changes or a new minister comes. Speaking to media persons during his assumption of office at the ministry on Friday, he said that Nepal's foreign policy is clearly mentioned in the constitution itself. 'Even if the government changes or a new minister comes, the country's foreign policy will not change,' Minister Khanal said, 'This is a matter related to Nepal's sovereignty, geographical integrity and national interest. Nepal has been adopting a non-aligned foreign policy for a long time and this will be continued.'

He said that the ministry has been doing necessary work in the recent conflict situation in West Asia. 'So far, data on more than 80,000 Nepalis living there has been collected. The ministry is actively working through diplomatic initiatives to keep the Nepalis living there safe in the same country as needed,' Minister Khanal said, 'If the situation becomes more sensitive, other necessary steps will also be taken for the safety of Nepali citizens.'

Along with this, he said that the possible impact on the fuel supply chain is also being studied, and the ministry is seriously analyzing the price of fuel and its impact, and this issue is being taken very sensitively.

Minister Khanal said that as a country that stands for peace and the country where Gautam Buddha was born, Nepal has always urged the conflicting parties to resolve their problems peacefully, and Nepal has also made the same request to the world community.

He said that if Nepalis in West Asia feel unsafe, the first priority will be to ensure their safety and the ministry is ready to adopt alternative measures.

Minister Khanal said that the government has prioritized good governance and economic prosperity, and that the work of all ministries will be carried out under these two basic goals, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also focus on making service delivery more effective.

He signed the first decision on Friday to facilitate consular services through digital technology. Minister Khanal said that the goal is to provide services through a digital system to make it easier for service recipients and that the system will be expanded to allow services to be received without having to be present at the government office. He said that in the context of economic prosperity, special priority will be given to 'economic diplomacy' and that it is expected to contribute to the economic development of the country.
