Newly appointed Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has urged to end the situation where citizens are suffering in the name of 'VIP Movement'. While giving instructions to the employees after assuming office at the Home Ministry on Friday, he stressed that the change should start from within.
Minister Gurung, who led the Gen-G movement, said that the service facilities of ministers should be revoked immediately after the movement and the trend of harassing citizens during transportation should be ended. Minister Gurung, who announced that he would dedicate the facilities of MPs to the people, had himself left the ministry by driving his private car.
'The 'VIP Movement' has been causing difficulties at the civil level, citizens have not suffered in this process, I urge all ministers not to do such a thing,' said Minister Gurung.
After assuming office at the ministry, Home Minister Gurung decided to provide service delivery from the ministry and subordinate bodies through a single-door system, taking the families of Gen-G martyrs and the injured as witnesses.
Minister Gurung said that a task force comprising representatives from various ministries will be formed to provide facilities to the families of the martyrs and injured of the Gen-G movement on behalf of the state.
