Koshi Province Health Minister Man Bahadur Limbu has said that the reconstruction process will be taken forward immediately after inspecting the health infrastructure in Dhankuta that was damaged by the storm.
Minister Limbu expressed this opinion while monitoring the damage caused by the storm at the District Ayurveda Health Center in the Dhankuta district headquarters. During the inspection, he took information about the damage to the physical infrastructure of the hospital, the impact on service delivery, and the status of necessary repairs and maintenance.
After the inspection, Minister Limbu said that health services will not be disrupted under any circumstances and directed to continue service operations by making temporary management immediately. He also pledged that the Koshi Province government will quickly proceed with the process to technically evaluate the damaged buildings and structures and arrange the necessary budget for reconstruction. 'Basic health services of citizens should not be affected, so repairs and reconstruction will be started as soon as possible,' Minister Limbu said. He has also directed the concerned bodies to collect accurate details of the damage and submit a report immediately.
Hospital Chief Dr. Vidya Shrestha informed the minister about the damage to the office building, OPD room and medicine storage room and initially presented details of the damage to the minister, which was estimated to be around Rs. 1.5 million. Minister Limbu reiterated that the provincial government is committed to operating services through alternative structures if necessary and to building safe and robust structures in the long term.
