Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Nepal Eye Hospital have signed an agreement to conduct eye examinations for 20,000 students in the Kathmandu Valley.

Acting Mayor of the metropolis Sunita Dangol, Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain, Head of the Health Department Deepak Kumar KC and Chief Executive Officer of the hospital Dharmaraj Gosain signed the agreement.

The agreement was signed at a program held on Thursday. After the agreement, Dangol said that the agreement was signed with the hospital to detect possible vision defects and promote eye health as children are increasingly addicted to mobile phones. "The eye examinations will be conducted for students from institutional schools along with community schools," she said.

According to the agreement, the hospital will have to conduct eye examinations for at least 20,000 students from 30 schools through specialist doctors. After the examination, medicines and glasses will also be distributed as needed.
