At least seven Nepalis have been arrested in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait on charges of sharing 'misleading content' on social media related to the ongoing war in West Asia. Three each in the UAE and Saudi Arabia and one in Kuwait have been arrested. According to UAE law, those involved in such activities can be imprisoned for 1-2 years and fined between 100,000 and 200,000 dirhams. The government has urged Nepalis in the Gulf to follow local laws and not share sensitive content on social media. Meanwhile, one Nepali has died and 20 others have been injured due to the war, while the injured have returned to work after treatment. The government has also said that it is preparing to move forward with a rescue plan if the situation worsens.
