Kathmandu  A helicopter of Air Dynasty Heli Services Pvt. Ltd. crashed while landing in Khotang. 

This morning, the helicopter with registration number 9N-AFQ, which took off from Kathmandu carrying 5 passengers, crashed while landing at a helipad in a village called Belabesi in Khotang at 11:51 am.

One passenger, Kazi Bahadu Rai, was injured in the accident, while the other passengers and crew members are safe, the company said. Another helicopter with registration number 9N-ANA has been sent to the scene to rescue the injured.

According to the company, the initial cause of the accident is believed to be strong winds or dust. 

Company Manager Balkrishna Pandit, giving initial information, said, 'The wind speed was a bit high during landing and dust could also be the reason.  Due to which  visibility may have been affected and the balance may have been lost. The detailed reason will be revealed only after a technical examination.'

It has also been informed that the pilot of the helicopter, Sabin Thapa, is safe.

More details about the incident are yet to come, and the concerned bodies are preparing to start an investigation.
