The government has stated that considering the latest developments in the West Asian region, the security and welfare of Nepalis living there is its top priority.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed that it is continuously providing necessary information and issuing requests through notices, press releases and briefings in coordination with Nepali missions in the relevant countries.
The countries in the region have made special requests on some issues to maintain public security and prevent the spread of unnecessary panic. Among them, it has been asked to trust only official information and news issued by government bodies and not to follow rumors or gossip. It has also been urged not to create photos, videos or other materials that spread panic and not to share such content.
According to the ministry, most Nepalis are following these instructions seriously. However, it has been reported that some Nepalis have been arrested for violating the rules.
The ministry has clarified that it is everyone's duty to fully comply with the security-related rules and regulations issued by the government of the country in which they live during the crisis. The government has warned that the notices, advisories and instructions issued by it are enforceable as law and that any violation may result in fines, imprisonment and even deportation.
In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has once again urged all Nepalis in West Asia to stay away from rumors, rely only on official information and not produce and share prohibited materials.
