The 12th World Conference and General Convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has made public a 12-point commitment with the goals of promoting Nepal's prosperity, promoting investment, protecting the rights of overseas Nepalis, and connecting the second generation with Nepal.

Keeping the development of Nepal and the interests of the global Nepali community at the center with the spirit of unity of the Nepali community scattered around the world, the conference has stated that it has prioritized various policy reforms, investment promotion, and international cooperation initiatives.

The conference has urged the Nepali government to create a simple, easy, and favorable environment for bringing investment by non-resident Nepalis into Nepal and to make legal reforms. A commitment has been expressed to encourage investment by non-resident Nepalis in building a prosperous Nepal through job creation, entrepreneurship development, and expansion of physical infrastructure.

Similarly, the need to establish a separate body has been pointed out to facilitate the process of trading in movable and immovable property, investing through securities, opening bank accounts, and withdrawing investment has been pointed out. For this, the conference has requested the government to amend the NRN Act, Citizenship Act, Income Tax Act, Foreign Investment and Technology Transfer Act and Land Revenue Regulations.

The conference has also demanded that the limit of securities issued by the NRN Nepal Development Fund, established with the joint investment of the Government of Nepal and Non-Resident Nepalis, be maintained at 45 percent without delay.

The conference expressed serious concern over the recent situation in the Middle East and stated that it will strengthen cooperation with the Government of Nepal and international agencies to provide relief, rescue and rehabilitation to Nepalis living there in times of crisis.

Similarly, it has been stated that policy reform initiatives will be taken forward in collaboration with the concerned countries, international organizations and the Government of Nepal to ensure the safety, rights and dignified employment of Nepali workers working abroad.

It has also been committed to taking initiatives through education, cultural programs and digital media to connect the second generation youth born and raised in the diaspora with the Nepali language, culture, history and identity. In addition, the goal is to contribute to the development of Nepal through the exchange of knowledge, technology and innovation of Nepali experts, scientists and researchers around the world.

The conference has stated that it will take initiatives to create an investment-friendly environment by encouraging non-resident Nepali investment in hydropower, agriculture, tourism, information technology and innovative industries in collaboration with the Government of Nepal.

The conference is also committed to further strengthening the campaign to introduce Nepal to the world by promoting Nepali language, art, culture, tradition and tourism at the international level through the Nepali community in the diaspora.

The conference has expressed its collective resolve to contribute to building a prosperous, inclusive and self-reliant Nepal by connecting the unity, knowledge, experience and capital of Nepalis around the world with Nepal and implementing the slogan 'Our Unity, the Basis of Prosperity'.
