Rain has started in the western region of Nepal since this morning. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the rain that started from the west is gradually moving eastward due to the influence of a western low-pressure system.

Dinkar Kayastha, Information Officer of the Department, said that it has been raining in Dadeldhura, Doti, Achham, Bajura, Bajhang Gulmi, Kaski, Tanahun, Palpa, Arghakhanchi, Manang and other areas of western Nepal since this morning, and that the rain-causing system has now reached Chitwan.

The Department's Weather Forecasting Division has stated that the rain that started from the west is moving eastward. Kayastha said that 17 millimeters of rain have fallen in Gulmi and 11 millimeters in Tanahun in the last one hour, and that it is still raining.

The Department's Information Officer, Kayastha, informed that Nepal is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system. According to him, currently Madhes, Bagmati, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces are generally cloudy, while Koshi and Gandaki provinces are partially cloudy. 

The department has stated that there is fog in some places in the Terai and the valley.  In the weather bulletin issued by the department today, it is stated that there will be generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as Koshi and Bagmati provinces, and partially cloudy in the remaining areas. 

There is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder/lightning in some places in the mountainous areas of the country, and snowfall in a few areas, informed the department's information officer Kayastha. 

He said that there is a possibility of moderate rainfall with thunder/lightning in some places in the hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, a few places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, as well as one/two places in the Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces. According to him, the cloudy weather will continue for a few more days.
