The United Nations has passed a resolution on International Health Day on the proposal of Nepal. The General Assembly passed the resolution today. Now this day will be celebrated every year on April 15 in various countries of the world.
According to Lok Bahadur Thapa, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations, the resolution states that health refers to not only the absence of disease but also a state of complete physical, mental, social, cultural, emotional and environmental well-being.
According to Ambassador Thapa, the resolution also emphasizes the need to promote preventive health services, healthy lifestyles and inclusive health systems to build strong and sustainable societies around the world.
Expressing gratitude to the countries that supported and cooperated in the process of passing the resolution, Ambassador Thapa said that this is an important diplomatic achievement for Nepal.
