Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that she has fulfilled her duty. Prime Minister Karki gave this response after voting in the House of Representatives election. 

Prime Minister Karki gave this response after reaching the polling station in Dhapasi Heights, Kathmandu and casting her vote. 'We have fulfilled the duty given to us, I am happy today. Today the country has held elections,' said Prime Minister Karki.

The then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned after the protests on Bhadra 23 and 24. Karki was appointed Prime Minister by President Ram Chandra Poudel on Bhadra 27. On the same day, the House of Representatives was dissolved and the election date was set for Falgun 21.
