India has welcomed and congratulated the successful conduct of the House of Representatives elections. “We welcome the successful conduct of the elections in Nepal and the enthusiastic participation of the Nepali people in exercising their democratic rights,” said Indian External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. Spokesperson Jaiswal gave this response to a query from media persons regarding the House of Representatives elections held in Nepal on Thursday.
India has also congratulated Prime Minister Sushila Karki, the Government of Nepal, the Nepali people and all stakeholders for the successful conduct of the elections in the backdrop of the unusual events of last year.
Jaiswal also said that India has been continuously supporting Nepal for peace, prosperity and stability. “In line with its commitment, India had provided necessary materials at the request of the Government of Nepal in this election as well,” said Spokesperson Jaiswal.
Spokesperson Jaiswal also said that India is ready to work with the new government formed in Nepal to further strengthen the relations between the two countries and for the mutual benefit of the citizens.
