The Ministry of Home Affairs has stated that all preparations for the House of Representatives member election (Falgun 21) have been completed. The ministry held a virtual meeting (Zoom meeting) with the Chief District Officers of all 77 districts on Wednesday morning and stated that all administrative work, including election security, has been completed.
The virtual meeting of the Chief District Officers of all 77 districts, including high-ranking officials of the ministry, chaired by Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Rajkumar Shrestha, took information about the election preparations and security management of all districts.
The meeting, which lasted about three hours at the Ministry of Home Affairs, focused on election preparations, security arrangements, and other issues, informed Rama Acharya, the co-spokesperson of the ministry. According to her, in the meeting, the Chief District Officers of all districts informed that all preparations for the election have been completed and the security situation is normal.
The meeting discussed the election preparations of the districts, the current situation, and the coordination to be done by the center. An agreement was reached to formulate a future strategy after reviewing the peace and security situation, vigilance to be adopted on election day, and security sensitivity.
Home Secretary Shrestha directed the Chief District Officers to make election security strong and effective. In the meeting, the Chief District Officers of all districts informed that all the personnel, security mechanisms and election materials have reached the polling stations.
