The Kuwaiti government has decided to extend the period of visit visas and leave of absence in view of the current situation. The Ministry of Interior issued a statement on Wednesday.

According to the ministry, all types of visit visas that have expired or are about to expire will be automatically extended for one month, effective from February 28, 2026. The ministry also stated that no fees or fines will be levied for visa renewal during this period.

Similarly, the leave of absence of migrant workers currently outside Kuwait has also been automatically extended for 3 months. The ministry has clarified that there is no provision for personal presence or payment of any fee for this.

The ministry stated that the decision was taken to provide convenience to citizens and migrants in view of the current situation. It also indicated that the grace period may be further extended as the situation develops.
