The Nepalese government has started work by forming a 'Rapid Action Team' for the safety and possible rescue of millions of Nepalis in the region following the latest developments in the region.
The said team was formed on Tuesday to regularly obtain information about the situation of Nepali citizens in the conflict, coordinate with intergovernmental bodies, and recommend necessary and appropriate steps for rescue.
The team, which was formed under the coordination of the Foreign Secretary by a decision of the Foreign Minister, will coordinate with friendly countries and other international organizations for that purpose. The team has arrangements to have representatives from the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs, Finance, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Education and Science Technology, Labor, Employment and Social Security, among others.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a press conference here on Tuesday to inform about the formation and implementation of the team as well as the latest situation in West Asia. Ramkaji Khadka, head of the Ministry's Central Asia, West Asia and Africa Division, informed that the team has started working as per the mandate. He said that coordination is being made by requesting the relevant airline companies and agencies to arrange food and accommodation for Nepalis staying at transit airports in the region.

Ministry spokesperson Lok Bahadur Poudel Chhetri said that the security of Nepali citizens is the government's top priority and the ministry is working accordingly. He said that regular information is being received and coordinated from the eight embassies and two consulates general of Nepal located in the countries of the region for the safety and coordination of Nepali citizens. Similarly, Spokesperson Poudel said that the ministry has issued an advisory and urged them to strictly follow the security-related instructions and information.
From today, the ministry has made arrangements to create an online portal to provide regular information to Nepali citizens in the region about the conflict situation and to fill out forms to stay in coordination. The work of informing Nepalis living there about the difficulties and queries they are facing has already begun on the portal, said Durpada Sapkota, Director General of the Department of Consular Services. She said that this information and information will help and contribute to possible rescue in the coming days.
