The Election Commission has stated that it has made arrangements to allow voters to vote through six different types of identity cards if their names are on the voter list. According to the Commission's Information Officer Suman Ghimire, in case they do not have a voter identity card provided by the Election Commission, arrangements have been made to vote by bringing any one of the following documents: citizenship certificate, national identity card, passport, driving license or landowner certificate (Lalpurja).
The Commission has stated that separate lines have been arranged for women and men at each polling station, and special arrangements have been made for physically disabled persons, senior citizens, pregnant and postpartum women and people who have difficulty voting on their own.
He said that separate facilitation arrangements have been made so that such voters do not have to wait in lines, adding, "They can take necessary assistance from the polling officer, assistant polling officer or the employees and volunteers assigned."
