The ministers have briefed the media that the problems seen at Nepal's airports amid rising tensions in the Gulf countries have been resolved.
In view of the increasing tension in the Middle East, the government has directed the Nepali embassies of the concerned countries to remain on high alert and continuously monitor the situation of their citizens.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting held on Sunday, informed Foreign Minister Balananda Sharma. According to him, the ministers briefed the meeting that the problems seen at Nepal's airports have been resolved due to the increasing tension in the Gulf countries. He also informed that an official travel advisory has been issued for the affected areas.
Minister Sharma also informed that arrangements have been made to transport Nepali workers and patients who have gone for treatment to their destinations in coordination with the Nepali embassies in the concerned countries to avoid inconvenience.
He said, "The problems faced by workers leaving Nepal at the Tribhuvan International Airport have been resolved. The problems seen at the airport, which the Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Foreign Affairs have collaborated with, have been resolved. Travel advisories have been published. Furthermore, discussions were also held regarding the inconvenience faced by Nepali workers and patients who have gone in transit to the concerned countries. For their convenience, coordination has been made with the ambassadors of each country's embassies to take them to their destinations and the relevant company will take care of those who cannot go.'
He informed that so far, none of the Nepali citizens in the Middle East have been injured and necessary security arrangements have been made.
