The Election Commission has taken action against eight people who violated the code of conduct and sought clarification from 94 people.
57 clarifications have been received from political parties and candidates and 6 people have been asked for clarification again, informed the Commission's Legal Officer Mohan Raj Joshi.
The Commission has also sought clarification from political parties, candidates, government and non-government organizations, media outlets and journalists who have been complained about violating the election code of conduct. Registered media outlets and journalists affiliated with them have been asked for clarification through the Press Council Nepal.
The Commission has stated that out of 1,076 complaints received from across the country so far, 1,061 have been dismissed. The highest number of complaints have been received from Lumbini Province.
