Police have arrested a Swedish citizen with foreign currency from Tribhuvan International Airport and made it public on Wednesday.
The arrested person is Kunchok Khandro, a 51-year-old Swedish citizen with passport number AA 3846491, said Dhundiraj Neupane, Information Officer of the Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office and Deputy Superintendent of Police.
He said, 'The Swedish citizen, who was about to travel from Kathmandu to China on a Sichuan Airlines flight, was arrested from the international departure hall of Tribhuvan International Airport while trying to carry foreign currency hidden in a brown side bag.'
Police said that they recovered US dollars 10,500, euros 26,700, Chinese yuan 7,400 and Fame Hundra kronor-Sweden 43,000 from her.
The arrested Swedish citizen has been sent to the Revenue Investigation Department, Harihar Bhavan, Pulchowk, Lalitpur for necessary action, said Information Officer Neupane.
