Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that non-governmental organizations should mobilize resources and means according to Nepal's national priorities and the needs of the people.

She made this statement while launching the digital service of the Social Welfare Council on Tuesday. Prime Minister Karki also mentioned that the activeness of social and civil society organizations in accordance with the state's policy is a strong aspect of democracy. She also said that the role played by social organizations and institutions in Nepal during disasters is commendable.

Prime Minister Karki believes that the relevance of NGOs will further increase if they move forward by imbibing public participation, sustainability, thrift, targeted group-oriented programs and volunteer spirit. 

Prime Minister Karki also expected the Council to make an unparalleled contribution to advancing the work of the social sector.
