The Chinese government is set to provide $4 million for the upcoming elections. The Cabinet meeting has decided to accept the amount received as a grant. According to government spokesperson and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, the meeting has decided to approve the financial investment framework for the Budhi Gandaki Reservoir Project as mentioned in the budget and program for the current fiscal year. The meeting has also decided to designate Kathmandu District Court Chief Justice Diwakar Bhatta as the Chairperson of the Consumer Court Kathmandu to oversee the work of the Kathmandu District Court. The Cabinet has also designated the District Court to handle and settle cases related to offenses under Section 140 of the Insurance Act, 2079 BS and has also determined public holidays from 1st of Baisakh, 2083 BS to mid-Chait. Spokesperson Aryal informed that the meeting also decided to form a Gen-G Council.
