Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhusal said that a curfew order has been issued for an indefinite period from 1 pm after the clash turned tense. 'We have imposed a curfew so that the situation does not deteriorate,' he said, 'Now, efforts are being made to bring the situation under control by mobilizing a large number of security personnel.' According to Chief District Officer Bhusal, a curfew order has been issued within the Gaur Customs Office, Mudbalwa Gate in the east, Lalbakaiya Dam in the west, and Bam Canal area in the north. Some time ago, a vehicle was set on fire during the clash. After that, the situation became tense.
After the clash between the two groups on Friday, a six-point agreement was reached between both sides in the evening at the initiative of Chief District Officer Bhusal.
The situation became tense after stone-pelting resumed around 9 am on Saturday. Hundreds of security personnel from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been mobilized to control the situation as the clash escalated.
The administration had stated that a six-point commitment was made during the talks, including maintaining social harmony, exercising restraint, and ensuring everyone's participation in the upcoming elections.
A dispute broke out between two communities during a wedding in Savgadha, leading to stone pelting. Some were injured in the incident. Security has been tightened at the scene. The police have urged the public to exercise restraint.
