The Supreme Court has ordered Medical practitioner and activist Durga Prasai to be produced in court on Friday.
Hearing the habeas corpus writ, a single bench of Supreme Court Justice Shrikant Poudel ordered her to be produced in court. An order has also been issued in the name of the government to submit the reason for Prasai's arrest. In the case of Durga Prasai, Uma Prasai had filed a habeas corpus writ.
Prasai, who was arrested on Magh 23 earlier, was released on bail. At that time, the Cyber Bureau of the police had used his statements about the election as a 'basis' for investigation and released him.
The police have been arresting Prasai repeatedly on suspicion that he was planning to launch a campaign to disrupt the election scheduled for Falgun 21. On Magh 5, the police had also released Prasai after taking his statement.
