Acting Commissioner of the Election Commission, Ram Prasad Bhandari, has expressed confidence that the Commission, which is committed to conducting the upcoming House of Representatives elections in a peaceful, fair and fear-free environment, will receive support from all concerned.

At an interaction program on ‘Effective Implementation of the Election Code of Conduct and the Role of Stakeholders’ organized by the Election Commission and the Nepal Law Society in Biratnagar today, Acting Commissioner Bhandari expressed confidence that he would receive support from all sectors involved in making the election historic and festive with maximum public participation.

Making it clear that anyone violating the election code of conduct would be subject to action, he requested everyone to participate in the election process with restraint by following the rules and procedures. He informed that the use of vehicles with Indian number plates in election campaigning and other activities has been prohibited and drew the attention of political parties and candidates to be aware of this.

Stating that the election is being conducted with the least possible expenditure, he requested everyone involved to manage expenses within the prescribed limits.
