The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has granted the police a four-day remand to investigate Durga Prasai.

Prasai, the coordinator of the Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizen Protection Campaign, who was arrested from his residence in Bhaktapur on Monday, was presented to the administration by the District Police Range, Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Prasai was arrested on charges of disturbing the peace by spreading rumors about the election and his time limit for investigation has been extended, informed the range's spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai.

Prasai had gone around on Falgun 21 saying that there would be no election. He had been arrested several times for various offenses before that. A few days ago, he was arrested once from Dakshinkali while he was going to Birgunj and before that from Pokhara.
