Araniko Yatayat bus with registration number Province 03-01-005 Kha 1975, which was coming from Kathmandu towards Okhaldhunga, fell off the road into the Tamakoshi River at 11 am on Tuesday.
The death toll in a bus accident in the Lilauti area near Tribeni in Bhalubajor, Manthali Municipality-6, Ramechhap has reached nine.
Araniko Yatayat bus with the number Province 03-01-005 Kha 9975, which was coming from Kathmandu to Okhaldhunga, fell off the road and into the Tamakoshi River at 11 am on Tuesday.
After the accident, rescue operations are underway with the help of local residents, security personnel and rescue teams.
According to Police Inspector Rajan Prasad Timsina of the District Police Office, Ramechhap, so far, nine bodies have been recovered from the bus that sank in the Tamakoshi.
More than 10 people have been rescued and sent to the hospital for treatment. Efforts are ongoing to recover others from the bus that sank in the Tamakoshi. The police said that the cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained and further investigation into the incident is underway.
