The traffic police have taken into custody eight motorcycles that were making loud noises and had their appearance modified.

The motorcycles were seized during a special check conducted on the Nepaltar-Dandagaun road section of Kathmandu on Friday.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, the traffic police conducted the check based on information from locals that motorcycles that were modified and making loud noises were being operated in the Tarakeswar area.

During that check, eight motorcycles that were illegally modified and making loud noises were found, according to the Metropolitan Traffic Police Office.

The seized motorcycles have been kept at the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office for further investigation and necessary action.

Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office spokesperson Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi requested all drivers not to drive such vehicles as driving vehicles with loud noises causes noise pollution and has a negative impact on human health.

Police have stated that action will be taken against the seized vehicles according to the Transport Management Act, 2049 BS.
