A proposal to withdraw the Social Media Bill is set to be presented in today's meeting of the National Assembly.
Prime Minister and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Sushila Karki will present a proposal to withdraw the Social Media Bill, 2081. The cabinet meeting on Tuesday decided to approve the withdrawal of the bill from the federal parliament.
The bill, which was registered in the 17th session of the National Assembly, was under consideration by the Legislative Management Committee of the Assembly.
According to the possible agenda of the meeting, Prime Minister and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Karki will present a proposal to pass the National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2081. Before that, Prime Minister Karki will present a proposal to discuss the National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2081 along with the report of the Legislative Management Committee.
In the meeting, Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee Chair Maya Prasad Sharma said that the bill should be discussed with the National Park. The Parliament Secretariat has stated that there is an agenda to present a proposal to discuss the study report of the committee on related policy issues, 2082.
The National Assembly meeting is scheduled to be held at 1:15 pm today.
