Before campaigning for the upcoming House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21, political parties and candidates will have to make their manifestos public. This provision is mentioned in the Election Code of Conduct, 2082.
Section 37 of the code of conduct stipulates that political parties or candidates must make their election manifestos public and campaign on the basis of them. According to the provision, the election campaign is scheduled to begin on February 4. However, Assistant Spokesperson Kul Bahadur GC informed that no political party has submitted its manifesto to the Commission to date.
The code of conduct stipulates that political parties must submit their election manifestos to the Commission and candidates to the relevant election office. Spokesperson GC also stated that there is a provision that political parties or elected candidates must make their progress reports as mentioned in their election manifestos public every year for the information of the general public.
