Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed her commitment to make every effort to implement the provisions related to mother tongue education, even though her government's tenure is short, and to make it easier for the next government.

She made this commitment while accepting the recommendation report on mother tongue education prepared by the Language Commission.

Language Commission Chairperson Dr. Gopal Thakur submitted the recommendation on mother tongue education and Nepal's national action plan for the International Decade of Indigenous Languages ​​(2022-2032) declared by the United Nations to the Prime Minister's Office in Singha Durbar today. Handing over the two reports prepared by the Language Commission, Chairperson Thakur said that education in the mother tongue is also a human right of citizens and these reports should be implemented to preserve the endangered mother tongue.

Prime Minister Karki accepted the report of the commission and handed it over to Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Anil Sinha. The report submission program was attended by the Chairperson of the commission and members Matrika Pokharel, Dr. Pushkar Raj Bhatta, Suresh Manandhar, Acting Secretary Dr. Lok Bahadur Lopchan and secretaries of the ministry.
