Keeping in mind the evolving security and political situation in Iran, the Government of Nepal has requested Nepali citizens residing or employed in Iran to leave the country safely as soon as possible using any available means.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a notice on Sunday and made this request. The ministry has also asked to postpone plans to visit Iran until the situation normalizes.

The ministry has urged Nepalis in Iran to keep all travel documents, including passports and identity cards, ready so that they can easily leave in case of an emergency.

Earlier, the ministry had also issued a travel advisory on Iran on January 13, 2026, and asked them to follow that notice.

The ministry has stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kathmandu and the Nepali Embassy in Doha, Qatar can be contacted for coordination and necessary assistance.
