Suspected theft at Balen's house, window grill vandalized

The window of the house of senior leader of the National Independent Party, Balendra Shah (Balen), in Mandikhatar, Kathmandu, has been vandalized.

The window grill was found broken, said SSP Ramesh Thapa, chief of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office. 'The grill was found broken,' he said, 'We have started further investigation after the relative informed us.'

He said that it is initially suspected that the window grill was vandalized with the intention of stealing. The police said that they received information about the incident on Friday evening. According to the police, Balen has been renting the house since Magh 4.

Balen is a candidate from Jhapa-5 for the upcoming House of Representatives elections. He is currently busy with events outside the valley for election campaigning.
