President Ram Chandra Poudel is scheduled to pay an official visit to Japan from Sunday to January 21.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that he is leading a Nepali delegation to visit Japan at the invitation of the Japanese government on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan.

President Poudel will leave for Japan at 11:30 pm on Sunday on Nepal Airlines flight no. 433, Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai informed. After completing the visit, he is scheduled to return home on Magh 21 at 4:30 pm on the same airline flight no. 434.

On the occasion of the visit, President Poudel will participate in a special reception organized by the Japanese government on Magh 19 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Nepal-Japan diplomatic relations. 

He is scheduled to pay a state courtesy call on Emperor Naruhito of Japan at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on Magh 20, Foreign Secretary Rai said. President Poudel and Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae are also scheduled to meet on the same day. Similarly, during the visit, Japanese Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Horie Iwao will also pay a courtesy call on President Poudel.

Similarly, in addition to participating in a meeting with the Japanese business community, President Poudel will also attend a reception organized in his honor by the Nepali Embassy in Japan, the ministry has stated. President Poudel will be accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Sabita Poudel, and high-level government officials during the visit.
