The National People's Front has released its election manifesto in Butwal, with the main agenda of abolishing federalism. President of the National People's Front, Chitra Bahadur KC, released the House of Representatives Election Manifesto-2082 through a press conference organized in Butwal on Wednesday.
KC said that the party has mentioned the issues of abolishing federalism and protecting the country's nationality, sovereignty and integrity as its main priorities in the manifesto.
With the main slogan 'Let's protect the republic and nationality, let's abolish federalism', the Rastriya Janamorcha has made public the manifesto for the direct and proportional elections to the House of Representatives-2082. The manifesto mentions 25 points including the concept of abolishing federalism and decentralized and balanced development.
Stating that development programs are currently mainly focused on big cities and developed areas, the Janamorcha has put forward a policy of decentralized and balanced development with regional balance. The manifesto mentions that special priority will be given to the development of backward districts and remote areas from a development perspective.
Voting rights for Nepalis living abroad, freedom from the vicious cycle of foreign debt, provision of voting rights from inter-constituency areas, justice and relief for conflict victims, ban on intellectual exodus, reduction of migration from the hills, fair-price shops in remote villages, and prevention of intellectual exodus have been mentioned in the party's commitment. Similarly, food security, improvement in prison conditions, integrated model settlements, full compliance with rural development human rights, full responsibility for the health of senior citizens, provision of workers' rights and employment, sports, education, and social security have been included in the manifesto.
Chairman KC clarified that the party does not have a policy of uniting with other political parties in the elections, except in a few places. Janamorcha has fielded candidates in 70 constituencies of 42 districts in the elections to the House of Representatives to be held on Falgun 21. Similarly, there are 110 candidates in the proportional representation.
Janamorcha Chairman KC also said that the country's nationality, sovereignty, and integrity are in danger due to the fact that the party's objectives were not fulfilled by those in power in the previous government and that instead of dissolving the parliament and establishing good governance, they tried to hold elections by putting people from NGOs/INGOs in the government. 'They want to lead the country towards disintegration or regional discord. Some parties are trying to create a situation of discord in the country by emphasizing casteism,' he said, 'The time has come for all patriotic Nepalis to be aware.'
He said that there is a big crisis on the Nepali nation and the Nepali people right now and the country's nationality itself is in a difficult situation. He also urged people to choose and vote for people who will work for the country in this election.
