The third plenary meeting of the Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations Nepal was held in Kathmandu on Magh 28 and 29.

The meeting discussed the current political situation of the country, democracy and the upcoming House of Representatives elections and passed a 15-point special resolution.

The meeting concluded that cooperation between the government, political parties and civil society is necessary to ensure peaceful, fearless and fair elections on the scheduled date.

Similarly, paying tribute to the youth who lost their lives during the Gen-G movement, it has demanded the government to arrange for treatment and compensation for the injured.

The meeting has demanded the official participation of civil society in the policy-making process. In addition, it has been urged to ensure the representation of women, Dalits, indigenous people, people with disabilities, sexual minorities and young people in line with the spirit of inclusiveness.

Federation President Arjun Bhattarai and General Secretary Devi Khadka have expressed their commitment to play the role of civil society more strongly in favor of democracy, human rights, peace and good governance.
