House of Representatives election: 5 million ballot papers for proportional representation yet to be printed

The commission has stated that printing of ballot papers for the direct election system will begin immediately after the printing of ballot papers for the proportional representation system is completed.

House of Representatives election: 5 million ballot papers for proportional representation yet to be printed

The Election Commission has stated that 15 million ballot papers for the proportional electoral system have been printed.

The printing of ballot papers began at the printing house of Janak Shiksha Samagri Kendra Limited on Magh 2. Now, 5 million ballot papers are yet to be printed. The commission has stated that the printing of ballot papers for the direct election system will begin as soon as the printing of the proportional election system is completed.

The final list of candidates for the direct election system has been finalized. A copy of the voter list was printed and distributed to all districts for the purpose of registering nomination papers.

The commission has made public the list of 3,406 candidates for the upcoming House of Representatives election to be held on Falgun 21. The commission has also provided election symbols on Friday. 

According to commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, 3,017 men, 388 women and one candidate from others have been finalized. The commission has stated that the election program from the registration of candidatures to the withdrawal of candidatures was conducted peacefully and enthusiastically. 

The list of candidates under the proportional election system has also been published.
