A total of 5,966 disaster incidents have occurred across the country since last April.

The disaster has claimed 424 lives and injured 1,643. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 38 people have gone missing and 11,535 families have been affected. According to the authority, the highest number of fire incidents have occurred. 2,692 fire incidents have killed 75 people prematurely. Similarly, 442 people have been injured and 2,996 families have been affected. Similarly, 577 incidents of landslides have decreased. 71 people have died in landslides, five are missing and 80 are injured. According to the authority, 316 incidents of floods, 427 of heavy rain, 352 of lightning, and 580 of snakebites have decreased. There have been 186 forest fires, 290 windstorms, 422 animal attacks, and 105 drownings.

The number of avalanches is five. There have been seven earthquakes, two boat capsizings, one each of hailstorms, cold waves, epidemics, and air crashes. In recent days, there has been an increase in fire incidents. The department has made it clear that fire incidents can be reduced even by adopting simple precautions.
