Education Minister Mahabir Pun has also resigned. While other ministers have resigned to enter the election fray, he has resigned to focus on his own campaign.

Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal has given information about the resignation of Education Minister Pun on social media. Finance Minister Khanal wrote, 'Mahabir Pun has resigned to start his campaign!'

The Prime Minister's Press Advisor Ram Rawal also said that Pun verbally informed Prime Minister Sushila Karki about the resignation.

Earlier, Energy Minister Kulman Ghising resigned and entered the election fray as the chairman of the Ujjaya Nepal Party.

Similarly, Youth and Sports Minister Bablu Gupta and Communications Minister Jagdish Kharel have also resigned and are going to file their candidacies for the House of Representatives from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
