The 18th session of the National Assembly ended on Bhadra 13.
The 19th session of the National Assembly begins on Sunday.
The session will be held at the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Singha Durbar, as the parliament building at the International Conference Center in New Baneshwor was burnt down during the Genji movement.
Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal had called a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee on Friday to prepare for the session. The agenda of the first meeting of the session is for Chairman Dahal to read out the letter convening the session from the President and present a condolence motion for Nepali Congress MP Baldev Bohara, who recently passed away.
Parliament Secretariat Spokesperson Ekram Giri informed that all preparations for the session have been completed. President Ram Chandra Poudel had called the session of the National Assembly on Sunday, Magh 4 at 11:00 a.m., in accordance with Article 93 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal, on the recommendation of the Government of Nepal and the Council of Ministers on Poush 28. The 18th session of the National Assembly ended on Bhadra 31.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has also prepared for the election of 19 members of the National Assembly on Magh 11. The commission has stated that one member of the National Assembly has been elected unopposed.
