Nepal Police have arrested a suspect in the murder of Sanam Shakya, who is said to be involved in the 33-kilogram gold scandal.

A team from the Kathmandu District Police Range arrested 33-year-old Surendra Gautam of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-17 in Makawanpur on Thursday and made him public.

Sanam Shakya of Urlabari, Morang, was beaten and electrocuted to death on February 18, 2074. The police have already arrested the main accused in the gold transaction, Churamani Upreti (Gore).

Spokesperson of the Kathmandu District Police Range, Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, informed that the arrested Gautam has been sent to the District Police Office, Morang today for necessary investigation.
