The Election Commission has made arrangements to provide voter details from across the country to any political party, if required, for a fixed fee.
According to the election guidelines prepared by the Commission, voters' lists across the country can be obtained by paying Rs 10,000. For that, arrangements have been made to provide the parties registered with the Commission for election purposes on the basis of the party's official letter. The Commission will provide details other than the voter's date of birth, citizenship number and mobile number electronically.
The Commission will provide such details on a hard drive or pen drive. If details of only one province are required, they can be obtained by paying Rs 5,000. The election officer must allow any voter, party representative or candidate to view or move the voter list at his own expense in a manner that prevents them from tearing, damaging or tampering with the voter list.
The voter, party and candidate must be informed that the voter list with a photograph can be viewed by the concerned voter and the voter list without a photograph can be viewed by anyone. If any voter wants to obtain his voter list, the election office must charge a fee of Rs 10,000 and provide a copy of the voter list showing only the details of such voter.
Similarly, the Election Office shall provide the electronic version of the voter list excluding date of birth, citizenship number and mobile number to political parties registered with the Commission on the basis of a letter from such party and to independent candidates on the basis of their application by charging the following fees. For that, Rs. 3,000 will be charged for the voter list for the entire district and Rs. 3,000 for the voter list for any one constituency of the election.
However, while providing such details, the voter's date of birth, mobile number and citizenship details will not be provided.
