What you should know
The documentary 'Dimaag Ghochne Manche', about the late Ujjwal Thapa, founder of the Bibeksheel Nepali Dal, has been released for public viewing from today.
The documentary, prepared by the Ujjwal Thapa Foundation, includes the contributions, visions, campaigns, and youth leadership of the late Thapa in the political, social, and economic aspects of nation building.
The documentary, which was prepared by collecting funds from the well-wishers of the late Thapa, was directed by Sudeep Bhaju. Director Bhaju said that Thapa's biography influenced him from the beginning to the end of the documentary.
'When we started the documentary, we started it as an extraordinary journey of an ordinary person, but no ordinary person can do what Ujjwal Dai did. Even though his physical body is no longer with us, his thoughts are still piercing our minds. This is his success. We have tried to include the words of those who know and understand Ujjwal Dai closely,' said Director Bhaju.
Thapa, who started his political journey as an IT entrepreneur and social activist under the name of Bibeksheel Nepali Dal, always had the country as his first priority, said his wife Erica Adhikari. 'Ujjwal, who put his family second, loved the country very much. He used to say that his earnings were 'social capital'. I understood that when he was sick, he spontaneously collected financial support for his treatment in the hospital and to make this documentary. If only he could do something by adopting his ideas, he would find peace,' Adhikari said.
Thapa, who is also the founder of 'Entrepreneurs' for Nepal and the WordPress Nepal Community, was born in a normal family in Syangja. He graduated in multimedia and reached the famous search engine Yahoo.com. Thapa, who started his IT entrepreneurship and entered Nepali politics, passed away in Jestha 2078 after contracting COVID-19 and pneumonia. The documentary 'Dimaag Ghochne Manche' covers his story from his childhood.
The 1-hour and 50-minute documentary was watched by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel, former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, former Minister Pradeep Poudel, Sumana Shrestha, Dr. Govinda KC, singer Ani Choing Dolma, politician Rabindra Mishra, and others at a special exhibition (premiere) organized on Wednesday evening before the public screening.
