Chairman Rai has made it mandatory to attend, saying that the special general convention will determine the future of the party and the direction of the country.
Nepali Congress Dhankuta President Dinesh Rai has urged the general convention delegates to mandatorily attend the special general convention to be held at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu on December 10 and 11.
Out of 26 general convention delegates from Dhankuta, 17 have signed in favor of the special convention. In a statement, Rai urged the general convention delegates to participate in the special convention, saying that it is an important time to take serious decisions on the party's ideological clarity, organizational unity, internal democracy, and the country's contemporary political challenges.
Chairman Rai has made it mandatory to attend, saying that the future of the party and the direction of the country will be determined by the special convention. Rai is close to Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa.
District President Rai had earlier publicly criticized the leadership for not including anyone from Dhankuta in the proportional closed list submitted by the party.
