Banke National Park is searching for a tiger that attacks people by installing cameras in Sauri, Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-1, Kusum.
The park's senior conservation officer, Birendra Prasad Kandel, said that five cameras have been installed around the incident site to search for the tiger, but it has not been found yet.
'We have been installing cameras in the area around the incident site and are searching for the tiger, but the tiger has not been seen so far,' he said. 'Since it has not returned to the accident site, it must have gone after the prey.'
Marichman Bhandari, 62, a resident of Sauri in Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-1, Kusum, was attacked by a tiger last Saturday while he was grazing his cows.
Chief Senior Conservation Officer Kandel speculates that the tiger may have accidentally attacked Bhandari to protect his prey. 'The tiger may have attacked Bhandari because he had gone to the herdsman's place while the tiger was killing and eating the cow,' Kandel said.
