According to SP Pawan Bhattarai, spokesperson of Kathmandu Police, the students are protesting as part of a joint student group.
The protest includes students from the Netra Bikram Chand-led Maoist, the majority of the Nepal Communist Party and the All-Revolutionary Party. He also said that some of the students who came to the protest were arrested.
